Hobbies: I like history, reading, architecture and engineering, archival work, thrifting and window-shopping, -coding apparently-, and gardening and hiking. I'd like to learn how to sew and knit, maybe speak a few more languages, but I don't have a whole lot of free-time with school.
Books: Anything by Willa Cather, Old Man and the Sea, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Letters of Vincent Van Gogh, Brave New World, Meditations, Flowers for Algernon, and a lot of Mark Twain's stuff. I intend on reading the whole Bible eventually, but I'm still working on having a life first.
Movies: Night is Short Walk on Girl, Night on the Galactic Railway, The Addams Family (live action version), Adventures of Mark Twain, Ratatouille, Nightmare Before Christmas, Loving Vincent, Elvira's movie, My Dinner With Andre, Beetlejuice, the two Halloweentowns that matter, a lot of Studio Ghibli stuff, Goodfellas, Casino, the classic Charlie Brown specials - especially love their music by Vince Guaraldi, Beetlejuice, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Shows: I really like The Golden Girls, Seinfeld, The Sopranos, 90s Moomin, Spongebob, and the Garfield specials from the 80s. Along with the standard fare of 00s/10s animation like Adventure Time, Chowder, Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, Regular Show, the circut.
Music: I really like Jazz, Tally Hall, Billy Joel and classic rock, and older music like crooners, do-wop, disco, Leslie Gore especially, &c.
People: I like Anthony Bourdain, very sincerely, as well as Fred Rogers, Jenna Marbles, and Cassandra Peterson, aside from that Bernie Sanders, JB Pritzker, AOC, and FDR. In terms of old dead people, I like Hadrian despite it all, Benjamin Lay, im a certified Rousseau-stan and Harry Truman defender.
Aesthetics: Based on tumblr tags, which is the only way I know what these niches are called, I really like webcore, y2k, the windows xp type fit, those will be shown off here. Outside of that, I like the many cottagecores: cabincore, countrycore, grandmacore, flowercore, naturecore, and all those, I like that kind of cozy and small living, hence the gardening and knitting. I think midcentury modern and dark academia can look nice in the right spots, I have a habit for paganism. Maximalism I guess, if thats a thing and not just a Hank Green quote.
Random Fact: My favorite tea right now is earl grey, I have it in the mornings with cream and a little bit of sugar.
I am Helias (obvious pseudonym), I made this whole thing. I am a 21 year old gay/bi male from St. Louis Missouri. I am still a college student, going for a highschool teaching liscence. I have a passion for art, engineering, and history, and I am deeply sentimental. When I am not working on this website, I am working on school, or enjoying my time with my boyfriend, (website). I have been on the internet for a long time, I had a home computer available to me fairly early in my life, so I do remember what things were like before the current era. I am quite nostalgic for that time period, and indulged so hard in it that I made this place and many other profiles on similar throwback websites that you can visit through the Hub page. You can view my interests in the neighboring column, or read my current thoughts in the blog accessible through the Hub. Aside from all of that I run a Minecraft server that I am really proud of but can't ever show off for private reasons. Below are some buttons.
