From Spacehey, first post
its so nice to be back in -= cyberspace =- modern ui has gotten soooo boring with their corporate memphis and blank
From Spacehey, several months ago
in life, there are some days made for doing things, and some days made for lying in bed all day eating cheetos and hitting the dab pen and drinking cheap wine.
guess what my week has just been full of.
i am out of wine now. :(

- Van Gogh letters, images I like. We're done with coastal elites, these are real midwest hours.
- This acorn pie that @juniper made. Fully scavaged and boiled and tannins removed. - the closest thing I've done to that is forage for gigantic freshwater mussels, purge them, steam them, melt butter on them, and then eat them.
- I dont think fiction gets a good enough reputation, sci-fi/ai and normal government dystopias are fun, they might be my favorite. Plus I like the moomins a lot. I feel like fiction gets sterotyped into just harry potter and superheroes and star wars.
- I love convienience stores, I think theyre the real backbones of communities and I think they should be much more common and ubiquitous than the bigger supermarkets and bulk stores. Theyre the modern equivalency to a general store or cornerstore, just now they have slurpees. They have so much potential and can be placed in residential neighborhoods very easily but still large shopping centers and strip mall dominate the landscape. :,(
- Ive been really craving a story about one single main character but the ensemble and adjacent cast keeps changing because they keep moving around. I always love that stuff.
- I am a proud and unabashed fan of My Life as a Teenage Robot. God what a good show, stellar art direction.
- I think some of the best aspects of American culture are the Yiddishisms, and it hurts me every day knowing that we'll never get another guy with an accent like George Jessel, there are no more Herschel's and Moishe's. Its so sad its such a top tier culture
- Armenians just cant catch a break, leave the poor guy alone, its bad enough what Turkey did to him.
- You know what’s great? Banana Peppers. I love that fresh crisp flavor. Chariots chariots.
- All the VAs for my favorite shows need to fucking die ASAP before the studio can actually just replace them with AI when they die and get away with it. I swear if I’m listening to an AI approximation of Tom Kenny in 50 years on network television I’ll become a terrorist.
- Really liking this account on twitter that keeps posting old comics, particularly the Everett True ones, that and Nancy. I also like seeing Rick Steves on twitter, I love the travel man, and I love the comic man.
- It’s sad to see Armenians getting 0-2 on the genocide score.
- This is just my perspective, but I think the only like logical rationale for the speakership fiasco is that the freedom caucus people have decided that they need to take the position of the anti-federalists and try and bog down the government from even functioning and hope for a change in situation. I wont moan on about politics though
- Listen, I don’t watch half these new fandoms - but can’t some things just be nice. Do we need to ship the purple rabbit with the chess piece, does there need to be porn of the Italian man and a bell pepper? Does everything need to be sexualized?
- Republicans want the Muslim and Latino vote to break away from the Democrats but then return to 2004 levels of Islamophobia and bombing Iran and call for invading Mexico over nothing.
- Apparently Luther died an antisemitic mess, a bitter old man furiously arguing for the forced relocation of all of Germanys Jews. Funny how that keeps coming up in Germany.
- Do you think these nouveau-catholique far-right people have any understanding of the church? they seem like they would be decidedly anti-marian, and that’s a really important aspect of Catholicism. like how would they grapple with the Mother of God while also being viciously misogynistic. When I complain about them coming at Catholicism from this American Evangelical angle, I mostly mean it in this fashion. Marianism, the Cult of Saints, and the chain of command are integral to the Church.
- I think that if Robert Lee had fought for the Union, he would have been hailed as a second Washington, but instead he chose Virginia and now he’s just a traitor. Skill issue.
- This is me saying literally anything normal on reddit just to have it downvoted into oblivion because it doesn’t perfectly conform to their weird echochamber. God willing, Allah will purge the world of these demons. I deeply dislike Reddit, more than any other site, even Discord. I dont even say stupid bullshit.
- I dislike how prevalent the idea that Stavros and Adam are interchangeable and meaningless to Cumtown and the AFS. Don’t cry sour grapes now that the band broke up, each part of the original trio was integral to the show. Put some respect on his name.
- crazy that dork diaries got away with this.
- I think I’ve found something. If you take a standard 3 panel Garfield, and remove the last panel, the punchline, and just leave the set up and the bridge/premise, you’re like 45% the way to Heathcliff, complete non-sequiturs. For instance:
- I have figured it out. The great reset is happening, white replacement is happening, the west is under attack. But it’s only happening in one country and that country is England. This is what happens after centuries of whig tory rule, what happens if Napoleon doesn’t abolish feudalism in your country. What an abysmal government, what abysmal politics, and what an abysmal country.
- I have been saving some good champagne for this day. Rest in Piss Henry Kissinger, you fucking demon.
- You know I think Kissinger is down there right now, screaming up at us, and I think he’s in severe pain.
- The whole squad could get a room in this. Just fix it up a bit, wouldn’t be hard with everyone. And you get a sick ass castle house. I wish life was still as much as a playground so that this kind of stuff could happen, but I figure the money and the regulation would dash any hopes.
- need
HARD.
- These lockers are what old websites used to look like, and I think seeing this is important for understanding why old websites looked like that. Useful for me in trying to replicate that style.
- Imagine eating some bologna and cheese and living in your 30 story tower but it’s still 1300s Italy. Italians were destined for New York. Picture is a modern engraving of what it would have looked like btw its not period. And yes I know they were just empty towers filled with a single rich family, I know, but imagine if they were apartments. 14th century Manhattan.
- You ever get into an argument, and about halfway through you realize that you’re right, and you know you’re right, and the other side doesn’t have any idea what they’re talking about so you just kind of give up and go on with your life. yeah.
From Bluesky, 2024
- I finally got around to watching my little “documentary” about Richard Kyanka ‘Lowtax’. And I will say this is what happens when like Gen-X cynicism and apathy goes too far. A vindictive asshat who cannot compel himself to care unironically about his own life and livelihood. Locked in this narcissist hellscape where he truly believes that people care about *his* opinion and not just the community he administered. Incapacitated for years by addictions and his ghetto fabulous lifestyle. The Internet really makes you stupid. All it would have took is to just fucking care. Cosmically, he deserved every bit of it. The fact that he spent the last decade or so in nothing but abject misery, constantly in agonizing pain and filled with nothing but bitterness and spite, is nothing short of divine retribution. A fate befitting an Internet titan whose actions affect us today. Something Awful This Way Comes.
- NOW I’m seeing a lot of Quinton Reviews hate and let me tell you that man flipped through actual archives of a bullshit Indiana newspaper in this household he is a researcher and a hero. I also see a lot more CGPGrey hate around the Minnesota flag thing and I think that’s uncool. Grey is good, I know he’s seen as the YouTube Flagspert (thanks JJ McCullough for that word) and has become the face of North American flag reform, but he’s so much more. I still like him, even if you don’t.
- Being on Twitter is amazing because I’ve discovered I’m apparently a genius for being able to enjoy Minecraft and understand nuance. I feel like Petrarch climbing Ventoux.
- The more I exist I have to come to terms with the fact that I am not a teenager anymore. I’ve been out of school for 3 years and not 18 for 4, and the kinds of things I did 2 and 3 years ago I simply don’t do anymore. My life is changing out of that transitional period and into what will be my 20s. And I don’t know how I really got through those years, I think I just kept living for today and step by step I ended up here. I’ve done so much and I wish my life in my 20s will have that same sense of wonder that I had earlier, when I was exploring being an adult and enjoying the freedom of life. I doubt it, but at least I have a general idea about where I’m going now. It’s sad to think that the transition is over and now I am fully an adult. I hope that as time passes I can grasp how I got here so I can help those around me get their footing too. And god willing I can keep life interesting. This is the type of thing I’d post in a blog if I used mine ever. Oh well, this idea won’t leave me for a while I’ll post it there when it’s all set up. (wink wink nudge nudge)
- I think it’s really funny how crypto is like 100% dead in the water. The whole idealized hype around it is dead and at least part of it is their own fault. rip dogecoin, you dying live on SNL was the funniest thing that’s happened on that show in decades.
- To me, Jesus Christ is the only King of Poland/America gives me heavy “Rome only has one King and that is Jupiter!” vibes.
- everyone on twitter is locked in a thumb war because they can’t accept that like 60% of all the important figures in the last 40 years were on epstein’s island, and not just the people they don’t like.
- When I say that the East Coast north of the Potomac and up to the St. Lawrence is one of the best and most important regions of human civilization in the world I say that not only understanding what is here now, but what used to be. Yankee Whigs were some of the best kinds of people to have existed.
- I want my house to look like how Vince Guaraldi music makes me feel.
- What kills me every day is that so far as I can tell, British and American culture and art are simply exceptional. I do not think there is a French Poe, or a German Shakespeare, those writers have no equivalent. I hate this, every day. I constantly have to grapple with the fact of history that English and American culture is important and I cant just write off all the stuff I know as being anglo-centric, write off England as just as important culturally as Poland, It's horrible.
- I know the idea that the best thing the US contributed to western culture is Jazz and Blue Jeans is kitsch but they’re kinda right. Jazz is fucking peak. Cheeseburgers are a peak of culinary excellence, and Jazz is fucking good.
- I feel like a lot of people have made “being an asshole” into their whole identity.
- I like working with old people. Some of them are so sweet.
- I want nothing more than to get my hands on and then grow a seed from the olive tree next to the Erechtheion in Athens. It’s a life goal, that olive is said to have been planted by Athena herself, it’s been there for millennia. I want some viable seeds. You think I can just pick some olives off the ground if I visit? I feel like they wont like me getting too close to the thing.
- You ever take someone somewhere and after they’ve left your life you see that they still go there. It’s a nice feeling.
- Dear Diary, I want to kill and you have to believe it's for more than just selfish reasons, more than just a spoke in my menstrual cycle.
- The crushing weight of your own sins will be thrust upon your back one day and you will be too spineless to carry them.
- I hope during my lifetime we can repair the cities and bring back art deco. We own the finish line, we can do this if we wanted, it’s just the desire to do so.
- Anthony Bourdain has got to be my favorite actual celebrity of the past 50 years. Its so sad that hes gone, Ill never forget when he said Singaporeans kind of deserve a communist revolution. He was so real for that.
- My turnaround on Hamilton has been rapid. I still don’t like him for being an elitist piece of shit, but choosing him as Secretary of the Treasury was a 6D chess move on Washington’s part, firmly establishing good trade relations with England and the rest of Europe and developing an economic policy that set the US on track to become a sophisticated industrial society. With Jefferson in the State Dept voicing American support for other nations seeking liberty it was really the cabinet match that defined the nation. (And don’t forget Knox).
- Alex Kirwan, Genndy Tartakovsky, and Craig McCracken. Peak art styles, Hustlers must watch.
- I think I’ve fully established Tasting History with Max Miller and the Adam Ragusea Collection of Programmes as my comfort shows on YouTube. They have good company with Old Time Hawkey and B Dylan Hollis on Tik Tok. (Thought I prefer Dylan’s long form YT content) long live the foodtuber. Closeby is Antichef with Jamie Tracey, I see you and love you all. Like Moomin for my gluttonous soul.
Okay thats all I have. Maybe I'll do one for tweets later but idk, now youre all up to date!
Dont forget to bookmark so you dont lose me, thanks for reading! Stay golden.
